Kevin Spacey plays Francis Underwood, a ruthless, calculating yet seemingly genteel Congressman. After being passed over for a position in the President’s administration, he embarks on a game of payback. As he plays, careers are destroyed, naughty secrets are revealed, people die. You know, just another day in the Capitol and in the unending quest for power. Francis’ wife and nonprofit director Claire (Robin Wright) and up-and-coming Beltway journalist Zoe Barnes (Kate Mara) have schemes of their own, which intersect with Francis’ plans in expected & unexpected ways. The writing, directing and acting are all top-notch. And props to Netflix for releasing all 13 episodes at once. TV series are so much better when you can power thru multiple episodes on your schedule, rather than the TV network’s. Anxiously awaiting season 2…
