Book Buzz – DARK SURF news & goings-on
Last night I crossed the 80,000-word mark on the sequel to Dark Surf! To seek inspiration for the ending of the book, I went back to page 1 and began re-reading everything the characters have experienced so far.
And something trippy happened…
In Dark Surf, I have a major event happening in a character’s life on a dark, moonless night in November 1972. In the Dark Surf sequel, I randomly assigned a date to that night: Nov. 5th. As part of my editing process, today I looked up moon phases for Nov. 1972 & discovered 11-05-1972 was a new moon—which means it actually was a dark, moonless night! How awesome is that?
